CBA on Paycheck Protection Program Application Deadline
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Consumer Bankers Associations President and CEO Richard Hunt issued the following statement on today’s (June 30th) deadline for submitting Paycheck Protection Program applications:
“America’s small businesses, and the millions of men and women who work at them, are the foundations of communities across the country and our nation’s economy. In the last three months, the entire banking industry has come together to make nearly five million loans and save an estimated 30 million jobs. I am proud of the entire industry and of the pivotal role CBA member institutions played in fulfilling our mission of financing the needs of consumers and America’s small businesses.
“In total, the nation’s largest banks, the 123 participating in the program with more than $10 billion in assets, handled close to 60 percent of PPP volume.
“While PPP might be coming to an end today, banks’ commitment to helping their customers and small businesses still struggling from this pandemic will not.”
