Message from CBA President & CEO Richard Hunt About CBA LIVE 2021

August 6, 2021

Dear CBA Friends & Family –

In response to ongoing public health concerns in Orlando, Florida, it is with an extremely heavy heart that, in consultation with the leaders of CBA, we have decided not to go forward with CBA LIVE in person this August 16 through 18.

To say I am disappointed and disheartened is an understatement.

Meeting with all of you at CBA LIVE each year – to address the most pressing issues facing our banks, to share ideas and to identify opportunities to innovate – is something I deeply value and believe makes a difference not just for our members but for the consumers and small businesses you work to serve. That feeling rings true more than ever this year, as there is no more critical time for our family to meet to plot a path forward for our customers and the industry in this new environment. But, as we have since 1919, CBA will once again rise to the occasion to support and protect our members.

The CBA Team already is at work adapting parts of the conference we had planned for you for a virtual experience. So, please hold those days – August 16 through 18 – on your calendar. We will be in touch quickly with more information about how you can participate, as well as answer additional questions you may have about registration dues.

CBA will cancel all hotel reservations that were booked through CBA’s room blocks at JW Marriott Orlando, Grande Lakes or The Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes.

We want to thank our amazing Board of Directors, committee members and sponsors – without whom CBA LIVE would not be possible – and all of you who have worked so hard to deliver a first-class experience and who have provided support and encouragement as we weighed this difficult decision. So many of you spoke to me about how much you were looking forward to just being together. We feel the same way. We always will put the health and safety of our attendees first.

As we look ahead, we will do our best to ensure you have the opportunity to participate in much of the same programming and connect with many of the people you had planned to – albeit virtually, and we are more hopeful than ever that CBA LIVE will have its best year yet in 2022 in San Antonio, Texas.

Please let us know if you have any questions. We will be in touch soon.

Thank you again,

Richard Hunt
