CBA LIVE – New Panel of Regulatory/Industry Watchers Added for Wednesday

We are turning the tables at CBA LIVE by adding a panel comprised of three reporters and an analyst, who closely cover banks and regulators, and asking them the tough questions. Listen as they give their insight on the short and long-term impact of regulators on banks, as well as impending regulatory action during the morning general session on Wednesday April 2, 2014, following remarks by CFPB Director Cordray. Danielle Douglas – Banking Reporter, Washington Post; Rob Blackwell – Washington Bureau Chief, American Banker; Jaret Seiberg - Managing Director/Senior Policy Analyst, Guggenheim Securities; and Alan Zibel – Reporter, Wall Street Journal will be joining us.

Meeting Our Bankers

Amy Best, American Express’ newly minted Vice President of Government Affairs, visited CBA’s world headquarters on Friday, March 21, 2014. This was a great opportunity to discuss CBA’s active legislative and regulatory agenda and to touch base on her priorities in her new role.

We also had several members in Washington, D.C. this week to meet with our advocacy team: Ken Yates, Vice President/Government Affairs Officer at Umpqua Bank, who filled us in on Umpqua’s exciting merger with Sterling Bank; Barbara Benham, ?Executive Vice President, Director of Corporate Communications and Government Relations at Huntington Bancshares, who filled us in on Huntington’s fun campaign to track their infamous green pens around the world; and Randal Hernandez, External Affairs Executive at Union Bank, with whom we compared notes on housing reform and several CFPB initiatives.

In addition, CBA’s Auto Committee Chair, Paul Wible - Senior Executive Vice President and National Finance Group Head at Bank of the West, was so excited for CBA LIVE he was in our offices putting the final touches on his committee’s forums.
