BIO

David Tyrie leads the transformation, integration, and management of Bank of America’s data and digital platforms, charged with providing each client a seamless, individualized digital experience that spans and supports their full relationship with the bank – from banking and borrowing with Bank of America, to investing with Merrill. David is also responsible for the bank’s global marketing organization, including brand strategy, enterprise and segment marketing programs and initiatives, digital, creative development, and paid media strategy.

David’s comprehensive approach is guided by the present and future needs of clients, prospects, and teammates. He methodically optimizes data, AI, business intelligence, marketing, and world-class talent to deliver easy, convenient, and safe solutions and next-level experiences.

David’s team sets and executes the strategic roadmap for all the bank’s digital platforms and capabilities – including, but not limited to, online, mobile, IVR platform, Erica®, Life Plan®, CashPro®, Merrill Guided Investing, digital payments and wallets, tools used by employees across financial and contact centers – and the marketing efforts to drive client awareness, engagement, and experiences. His team also leads strategy for Preferred Rewards, the bank’s industry-leading, no-fee loyalty program driving new member, asset, and product growth.

Under David’s leadership, clients are engaging digitally in record numbers, with client satisfaction reaching all-time highs in digital channels and ongoing recognition from the industry. In the past four years, the bank has received hundreds of digital awards and accolades, including more than 100 in 2022 alone, such as: “Best in Class” by Javelin Strategy & Research in 2022, in both mobile and online banking for the sixth consecutive year; No. 1 rankings by J.D. Power in customer satisfaction among national banks for both online banking and mobile banking apps; Celent Model Wealth Manager for Digital Wealth Overview and the Bank of America mobile app; Celent Model Bank for CashPro®; “Best Digital Transformation Award” for Security Center by BAI Global Retail Banking Innovation Awards.

Throughout his career at Bank of America, David has played a central and leading role in advancing the bank’s high-tech, high-touch strategy as well as the overall growth of the Consumer and Small Business line of business. Prior to leading Digital across Bank of America, David was Head of Advanced Solutions and Digital Banking.

Before joining Bank of America, David served as Managing Director, Global Products and Marketing, for Putnam Investments. Earlier, he served in various leadership roles at Fidelity Investments, where he was instrumental in pioneering the Fidelity.com business, and at MFS Investment Management.

David resides in Boston with his wife and four children.
