Yolanda D. McGill joined Zest AI in 2023 as its Vice President, Policy and Government Affairs. Yolanda brings to Zest AI her extensive experience at the intersection of advocacy, research, government, and the private sector to achieve common policy goals. For the last two decades she has focused primarily on credit, debt, and consumer financial products and services. During that time Yolanda led state legislative campaigns, built national coalitions, and educated policymakers and the public on complex problems and the possibilities for sustainable solutions for them.

Immediately prior to joining Zest AI, Yolanda was leading the regulatory initiatives on credit cards, payday and small dollar lending, marketplace lending, and UDAAP as a supervising attorney in the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s Office of Regulations. Before taking on the CFPB role in 2015 Yolanda was manager and coalition leader of the Loan Modification Scam Prevention Network, the first-ever consumer protection project at the national Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law in Washington, D.C. With Zest AI she continues her tremendous success building partnerships for change with thought leaders of federal agencies, civil rights and consumer advocacy organizations, state and local governments, and corporations. Yolanda obtained her Bachelor of Arts in German from New York University, and her Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan. Yolanda has bar licenses in three U.S. jurisdictions as well as international practice experience, and can still speak German.
